Marilyn Monroe and the Alien Theories: Decoding Hollywood's Enigma

Strangers, as promised, I am back with an extension to my original blog post about Marilyn Monroe and the theories surrounding her death. Marilyn, one of the most iconic figures in Hollywood history, has always been shrouded in mystery and controversy. From her troubled childhood to her tempestuous relationships and her tragic, untimely death in 1962, Monroe's life was a whirlwind of highs and lows, love and heartbreak. But among the myriad of conspiracy theories that have sprung up around her death, one of the most intriguing and enduring tales involves aliens and extraterrestrial knowledge.

The Theory:

The heart of the theory posits that Marilyn Monroe was privy to classified information concerning the existence of extraterrestrial life. Some, what society may call conspiracy theorists, claim she was either told directly by someone in the know or she inadvertently learned about it, possibly through an affair with a high-ranking official. The idea is that threatened by her alleged knowledge, certain powers deemed it necessary to silence Monroe before she could reveal these secrets to the world.

Where Did This Theory Originate?

  1. JFK & Robert Kennedy Connection: Some suggest that her relationships with President John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert Kennedy, might have exposed her to classified state secrets. This theory gained traction when documents surfaced suggesting that Monroe had kept a "red diary" that contained sensitive information. Some believe this diary contained references to "aliens" and "Roswell," igniting further speculation.

  2. Alleged FBI Document: Fueling the conspiracy is a supposed FBI document dated August 3, 1962, just two days before Monroe's death. This document, which mentions Monroe's knowledge about "a visit by the President at a secret air base for the purpose of inspecting things from outer space", has been cited by many as proof that she knew of extraterrestrial affairs. However, the authenticity of this document has never been confirmed. It's strange how that works.

  3. Monroe's Interest in Spirituality and Mysticism: Marilyn Monroe, like many of her time, was fascinated by the unknown and the mysterious. Her interest in psychic phenomena, spirituality, and the possibly even paranormal has been well documented. Some argue that her interest in the unknown might have naturally extended to extraterrestrial life, making her a prime candidate for seeking and uncovering such secrets.

Problems with the theory:

While the story is enticing, several key elements make it difficult to accept at face value, and here in the Strangerverse we tend to look at stuff from all angles and then make up our minds.

  1. No Solid Proof: Despite the aforementioned FBI document, no concrete evidence links Monroe to extraterrestrial knowledge.

  2. The "Red Diary": While many claim that Monroe's diary contained extraterrestrial secrets, no one has ever produced this diary for public examination. Additionally, those close to Monroe, including her maid Eunice Murray, mentioned the journal in terms of personal reflections, not state secrets. However, it’s also feasible to theorize that Murray may have felt threatened by the same forces Marilyn may have faced, or she had financial incentives not to divulge any secrets from the diary concerning extraterrestrials, for example. Alternatively, she may have simply wanted to protect Marilyn’s legacy. At the end of the day, did she even know what was in the diary?

  3. Sensationalism: Monroe's death has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories, ranging from mafia involvement to government plots. The alien theory can be seen as yet another attempt to sensationalize the tragic end of a beloved actress.

Given both viewpoints, the life and death of Marilyn Monroe continue to captivate audiences around the world, including me. While the alien theory surrounding her death may be but one of many narratives spun to try and make sense of a tragedy, her death left many unanswered questions. And while it's essential to approach these theories with a healthy dose of skepticism, it’s also important to understand that not everything is what it seems, especially when the higher-ups are involved.

In any case, Marilyn Monroe's legacy is one of talent, beauty, and mystery. While we may never know all the truths of her life, we can appreciate the indelible mark she left on Hollywood and the world.

Until next time, yours truly, M.-L. Stranger.
